Getting Started

1. Download a Client

While you can connect with any basic telnet application, we highly recommend using a dedicated MUD client to enhance your experience. MudForge is our recommended modern client, but Mudlet and TinTin++ are also excellent choices for scripting and mapping.

2. Character Creation

When you first log in and choose your name, you will be guided through a simple creation process:

• Naming & Password: Choose a realistic, roleplay-appropriate name (no pop-culture references or screennames).
• Archetype Selection: You will be prompted to select from multiple creation archetypes to define your starting stats. Alternatively, you can choose "CUSTOM" to completely customize your character sheet once you're in-game.
• Race Selection: You will be asked if you wish to start the game as a Vampire. If you choose yes, you can select from the core clans. If you choose no, you will start as a Human, leaving the door open to discover other supernatural paths (like Garou or Mage) through gameplay.

3. Basic Commands

• look: Examine your current surroundings.
• score: View your character's basic stats and condition.
• charsheet: View your primary character sheet.
• cs2: View the second page of your character sheet.
• freebie: Spend your freebie points to increase stats.
• OOC: Speak Out of Character to the global server.
• OSAY: Speak Out of Character to those in your room.
• help: Access the internal wiki for syntax or lore.
• skillmap: View the tree of skills and their prerequisites.

4. Progression & Remorting

As you venture through the darkness and gain experience, you will unlock hundreds of unique combat maneuvers, spells, and racial powers by advancing your core stats. Each time you reach level 100, you can remort (prestige) and grow even stronger. New characters are also given the option of awakening as either a Garou or Mage upon their first remort.
