Theme & Setting

Haven of the Embraced is set in the middle of the 13th century, following the official Vampire: The Dark Ages setting. It is a brutal, superstitious era where the mortal population is plagued by disease and supernatural predators, driving them to flock to the safety of the Church.

A Vast and Treacherous World

While all new characters begin their journey in Chester, England, this is only the beginning. The world is expansive, featuring numerous sprawling cities separated by veritable oceans of untamed wilderness. As you establish yourself, you can customize your hometown to respawn in other major cities. For the adventurous, ships remain docked at the ports, ready to take you far and wide across the continent.

A Tapestry of Shadows

The overarching theme of your story will depend heavily on your chosen path:

• Vampires exercise their dark social influence over decades and centuries, pulling the strings of mortal society from behind the veil.
• Garou (Werewolves) are the fierce protectors of Gaia, fighting a losing battle to keep the wild places wild and free from the Wyrm's corruption.
• Mages walk the spaces in between, bending the consensus of reality while carefully avoiding the deadly backlash of Paradox.
